HM Government Kickstart Scheme - We Can Help You Get Onboard
The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to create new job placements for 16 to 24 year olds who are currently on Universal Credit. The process is simple enough, if you could provide a work placement for 25 hours or more a week for 6 months, UK Government pay 100% of the National Minimum Wage for that first 25 hours per week for 26 weeks.
The scheme requires at least 30 vacancies to be filled - great if you are a huge company but for all us small and medium sized firms it can be more of a challenge. Fear not! Learning for Hire are working with the Department for Work & Pensions as a Gateway Organisation, we work with local employers to create 30 valuable and useful placements to enable these young people to gain quality work experience at little or no cost to the employer.
We help you put a suitable job description together so the role can be advertised through the Job Centre network. Normally you will get 6 to 8 candidates to interview and then hire based on that - just like a normal vacancy. The difference is, their first week and a half is then spent with us gaining training that is useful to you including customer service, H&S and other key skills.
